How can we integrate trauma through our dreams as discussed in the episode Lucid Dreaming: How to Learn, Grow, and Heal While You Are Asleep and the clip Navigating Lucid Dreams?
Could it also mean that my brain would be facilitating a dialogue between my conscious mind and my unconscious mind by waking me up during those dreams/nightmares, allowing me to put in a new input or narrative around that trauma?
I have a question about this episode Lucid Dreaming: How to Learn, Grow, and Heal While You Are Asleep and this Navigating Lucid Dreams. If the goal is to diminish the physiological response, would working to change the physiological response immediately after being triggered over time diminish the response and break the conditioning? For example, if a person had a traumatic experience with a spider and every time they see the spider or get activated through some trigger, they use breathwork to calm the body immediately after, would that work like retelling a narrative to extinguish the fear? Did I miss something?
